iFeed is a one-day event where High School Interact clubs and community volunteers will work toward alleviating hunger in the world and in our own communities.
HOW will iFeed do this?
Is TWO PARTS:
PART 1 of the event is to pack over 100,000 highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice meals that will be shipped to Nicaragua (with the help of the organization called Kids Against Hunger). This will involve over 36 teams (432 volunteers) packing for about 4 hours total.
PART 2 is a MEGA food drive spanning the Coulee Region and beyond. Interact needs the community to join in and be a part of iFeed in Part 2.
WHO is putting on iFeed?
Seven La Crosse Area Interact Clubs – including Aquinas, Caledonia, Central, Holmen, Logan, Onalaska and West Salem High Schools. What is Interact? It’s Rotary for high schoolers. It’s mission is the same as Rotary: SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
WHEN and WHERE is iFeed?
iFeed 2022 is on Saturday, November 5, 2022 and will be held at Logan High School from 8am to Noon.
Why should people get involved in iFeed?
Because the need is so great. Hunger is a real issue—in foreign countries AND in our own back yards. The 100,000+ meals will be shipped to Poland for Ukrainian refugees. Children would go without food if it weren’t for the food packs sent by organizations such as Kids Against Hunger.
Locally, the need for food is a constant challenge. Non-perishable food items collected during iFeed will be donated to the Hunger Task Force (the tri-state area’s major food pantry supplier) and other community pantries who are participating in iFeed outside of the La Crosse area. iFeed truly will benefit every area food pantry.
HOW CAN YOU help iFeed?
Get together your school, church or business, service organization, neighborhood or any other club, group or team and plan a food drive! Your rules, goals and incentives = your outcome! Set your time frame – 2 weeks before, 1 week before, however you would like to run your food drive.
THEN ON 11.5.22, bring your collection to Logan High School from 8am-Noon and be a part of the largest one-day food drive EVER! Feel good about what your group has done and how you have helped feed the hungry!
If you don’t live near the Coulee Region and still want to join our efforts, collect your food donations, and send us a picture or a short video (not more than 30 sec.) of your group WITH your collection. Create a sign with your food collection total. Email your photo/video to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, October 31.
Your count and your photo/video will be included in our iFeed number totals! Then take your collection to your local food pantry! Please contact us at email@example.com to let us know that you’re holding a food drive and we will add you to our Web site list.
